Chief Architect – Automotive Radar & Sensor Fusion for ADAS and Autonomous Driving

Summary:

Excited by the challenge of architecting innovative solutions that will shape tomorrow’s autonomous driving systems?  Be on the leading edge of new automotive radar and sensor fusion technology at my Client's Automotive Solutions Division.   We are the market share leader for automotive image sensors, and we are expanding our solutions to include radar and sensor fusion.  We are engaging both traditional automotive customers as well as alternative Transportation-as-a-Service companies.

The Chief Architect is the technical “owner” of all aspects of radar and sensor fusion products at my client.   This person defines the radar system architecture and partitioning requirements at an application level.  This is both a highly technical and customer-facing role where you will drive the technology strategy for next generation radar and fusion products.  This is a highly visible position with a rare opportunity to build groundbreaking sensor fusion solutions from an early phase.

Objectives:

  • Defining system level performance requirements and architecture strategy for the automotive radar product line
  • Teaming with global design and system engineering teams (RF, algorithm, and chip design) to define radar and sensor fusion system architecture and technology roadmaps
  • Engaging customers and partners (OEMs, Tier1s, and ecosystem) to deeply understand sensor fusion use case requirements and relevant system partitioning for autonomous driving
  • Teaming with product line managers to influence radar and sensor fusion IC product roadmap
  • Defining proof of concept prototype solutions (HW, SW, ID)
  • Teaming with marketing and field staff to provide technical guidance on OEM and Tier1 RFI/RFQ opportunities
  • Possibilities for public activities such as technical spokesperson at industry working groups and events, white papers, etc…
  • Some domestic and international travel required
 Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Radar system experience, ideally at an automotive Tier1, OEM, or semiconductor supplier
  • 7-10 + years of experience in a comparable role with in-depth domain knowledge of RF and mmWave systems
  • Skills in advanced mixed signal products
  • Experience with imaging and camera based systems is a plus
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary setting and lead cross-functional teams to achieve overall goals in fast-paced environment
  • An “ownership” mind set where you feel responsible for the overall success of the product
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or comparable technical field – advanced degree a plus
  • Must have right to work in United States
  • Position can be based in SF Bay Area or greater Detroit area
