Job description

System Engineering team member to work with the IC design team in the development, validation, and production release of PoL and Digital Multiphase controllers for the EP business unit. This position involves a lot of electrical lab testing and documentation on the Digital Multiphase Controllers. These digital multiphase controllers are designed into computer equipment such as Servers, GPU cards, gaming systems, and high end desktops to power CPU’s, Memory, GPU’s and ASIC’s. Engineer will also be required to support customer design-in and debug efforts on products using these controllers.

In your new role you will:
  • Product Validation
    • Write system validation plans (SVP) for products
    • Design product validation hardware
    • Contribute new ideas to product development
    • Validate new ideas using simulation tools or product validation hardware
    • Validate new chip-sets and VR solutions for customer applications by testing per SVP system test plans
  • Documentation
    • Write Product Data Sheet (derived from engineering specification)
    • Generate design tools and necessary application notes
    • Generate appropriate white papers
  • Customer support
    • Develop and test customer application evaluation boards as needed
    • Provide technical training to FAEs, sales, and customers as needed
    • Support customer project design-in activities as needed
  • Occasional travel (Approx 10% of the time) to provide on-site customer support


The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in power supply design, preferably in computing devices like desktop PC, notebook, server and graphics boards and has a system level knowledge of their motherboard architecture. He/she must enjoy working in the lab to validate new products in support of design engineering and to deliver designs per customer application requirements.

You are best equipped for this task if you have:
  • BSEE or MSEE preferred with 5-7 years of hands-on experience in high-frequency, high-current, high-density DC/DC designs
  • Extensive lab skills for the test and debug of switch mode power supplies
  • MathCAD and Excel for circuit calculations
  • Simplis Simulation Experience for Power Supply simulation
  • Extremely responsive, ready to jump on the most difficult design and/or customer issues instantly
  • Good communication skills in both verbal and written English
  • Good at developing relationships with internal and external engineering community
  • Effectively multi-task, manage priorities and solve technical problems independently
  • Highly motivated, energetic and enthusiastic
  • Self-learning, self-disciplined, and a good team player
